This is Marduk's third live album in their long career, and their umpteenth release overall. I have heard some people claim Infernal Eternal as their greatest recording, which I would not have credited before hearing this. Marduk have always been a sort of hit-or-miss band, producing both lauded albums (Nightwing, Those Of The Unlight) and reviled slabs of 'norsecore' (Panzer Division Marduk, World Funeral). But after hearing this, I have to agree with the people who claim Marduk are best live.

With impressive proficiency and unbelievable aggression, Marduk blaze through an awesome setlist including a whole fistful of their best songs. The sound is clear and sharp, while still maintaining the live vibe, and the band is locked-in and faster than hell - I think a lot of these songs are played faster live than they were on disc, and the band really impressed me with how tight they remain even at warp 90. The really gripping thing about this is the passion they display, and the evil, snarling fury with which they blaze through the songs. The disc does go on a little long, and by the end you are painfully aware that even the best Marduk songs sound a lot alike, but they keep the energy level up and just rip right through this thing. Marduk may always be a second-tier band, but they sure don't play like it. For fans this is a no-brainer, and even if you aren't, Warschau might change your mind.
