Amazing that it is actually possible to capture complete mediocrity on tape in a studio. Athlantis seems to be a side-project of some of the dudes from Shadows Of Steel, another band who have never produced anything interesting. From the looks of this, I was expecting some speedy, keyboard-drenched Italo-Power Metal, and that's exactly what I got, so you can't say Athlantis are deceptive in their packaging. I cannot tell if the people fighting on the cover are supposed to be guys or amazons, but I have to say they are pretty butch for chicks, and if they are dudes, that one guy's ass is rather prominently displayed for my taste.

Aside from that, Athlantis just do not manage to create anything compelling. Faceless speedy riffs are layered with generic keys and vocals that are competent but not in any way exciting. There's not really anything egregiously bad about this music, nothing offensive about it. It is just relentlessly generic and uninteresting. Even if you are in the mood for completely faceless Italian Power Metal, this will be too faceless by half. To be avoided.
