"Valueless" would be a good word for this album, so would "Fraudulent" or maybe just "Bullshit". By the Wolf this is just the limit. Whenever I think I hear the worst crap anyone has ever come up with, someone produces something new that lowers the bar. I have a hard time even classifying this as metal, but even if it isn't held to those standards, it is utterly and completely worthless as art or entertainment. Even describing this is hard, as it is mostly just a mass of shapeless stumbling bullshit. When the first track goes on and on just playing the same acoustic guitar lick every twenty seconds or so you know this is going to be bad, but it never lets up. Long passages of silence or feedback, acoustic twaddle, 'riffs' that are literally just string squeak - everything about this is painful. Anyone interested in music with melodies, or riffs, or a tune, or anything happening at all is going to be as pissed off by this disc as I am. Like atmospheric music without atmosphere this just meanders around for the better part of an hour, and even when the last track - the last one - busts out a long, fairly killer guitar solo, it's far too little, far too late. An album so bad it borders on amazing. |
