Now, this won't be on my top albums list for 2007! Audiopain reminds me of The Forefathers. No, this is not a "Folk" Metal wanna be type of an act, but both have one thing in common: once you've heard one song, you've heard the entire album, since they all sound pretty much alike. Repetitive and redundant for the most part.
Audiopain is a bunch of punks playing Black Metal and the result is Punk Black Metal. Fast, kicking, in your face, simplistic melodies with harsh/raspy vocals. The most interesting part is the guitar work. Nothing outstanding, far from it, but still good riffs are being played and the sound is kind of crunchy when the pace drops down a bit. Then you have some cool leads with liaisons and distorted ones too that can be heard here and there. Track #4 "Termination Fields" is the best compositions for it's different from the rest and has a bit of a catchy edge. Closing number "Cobra Dance" also has its moments with distorted bass, good riffs and mid pace. Production-wise, this album is very good with all the sounds being loud and in your face.
Not my type of Black Metal but, perhaps the punk-oriented listener will enjoy thrashing and crowd surfing on this music.
