Normally I don't do reviews of a sampler album but in this case I just had to make an exception. There are two reasons I decided to do this review. Number one is the fact that most people haven't heard of this label and number two is there is just simply some kick ass tunes on this disc…;) I will just list each band and the song with a rating for each individual song since some are definitely better than others… 1. Meliah Rage - "Mind Stalk" - I remember this band from the mid to late 80's and was surprised they were still active. I am glad they haven't decided to change their sound since I liked them back then and I like this as well. Old style speed/thrash metal with better than average musicianship. RATING-8 2. Distrust - "Breaking the Pain Barrier" - Speed metal with some pretty harsh vocals. Very infectious main riff that really sticks in your head. RATING-8.5 3. Red Right Hand - "Good Day to Die" - Groove oriented hardcore that is also very memorable although quite repetitive. RATING-7 4. Candy Striper Death Orgy - "Atomictivity" - Original name for a band to say the least and one of my favorite tracks off this sampler. Reminds me a bit Sacred Reich which was one my favorites back in the day. RATING-9 5. Cold Blooded - "End it All" - Groove oriented sludge style metal that I thought was a little to repetitive but not bad overall. RATING-7 6. Tearabyte - "Doom Generation" - Thrash metal with some pretty good lead guitar work. RATING-7.5 7. Disdain - "Reign of Terror" - This is the best song on the entire sampler by far, Thrash metal that really gets your blood pumping. Excellent lead guitar work and song structure. This is some good music to kick someone's ass by…J. RATING-10 8. Recognizer - "Built for Porn" - Punk/sludge hybrid that isn't too bad but also no that interesting. RATING-6.5 9. Comadose - "Velcro" - Metalcore band that I think would be a lot better without trying to appeal to a mall audience with the DJ samples and scratching. The real music itself is actually quite good but it ends up being ruined by the DJ crap. RATING-3 10. Suicide Contest - "Ballad of Lew Proudfoot
(Manhunter)" - Sludge metal that for its genre is pretty good but unfortunately
this genre does nothing for me. RATING-6
