Holy Shit! My neck hurts! After a 4 year hiatus Tann and his Portuguese comrades are back with their latest offering of raw, epic, ass-pounding Heavy Metal. The great thing about bands like Ironsword is that they understand what works well for them and they don't deviate from a winning formula. Never, ever willing to bend their knee to the mainstream culture, they choose to maintain their a highly respected underground cult status, for which we are the beneficiaries.
Anyone familiar with Ironsword knows to prepare themselves for an all-out stripped-down old school Heavy Metal kick to the nads, complete with harsh barbaric vocals and raw razor-sharp riffs, compliments of Tann (Guitars and Vocals), bandmates Rick Thor (Bass) and Maalm (Drums), are also deserving of recognition because one person does not a great band make! As was the case with their previous works the boys are not bashful toward displaying their obvious Manilla Road and Omen influences. The moral of the story, if you prefer your metal polished and squeaky clean you will be scared shitless of this.
Their is no sense providing a boring long winded track by track overview because every single song is awesome, not one minute of filler anywhere. The album benefits from superior production compared to Return Of The Warrior, bombarding the listener with an overwhelming, heavy as an anvil wall of sound.
Any self-respecting lover of true Heavy Metal who does not already have this in their collection should get a time out for bad behavior. Excuse me while I get an ice bag for my aching neck.
