A strong debut from this Latvian band. Frailty are obviously very into old Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride, and they do their music up well with haunting riffs and leads, some compelling compositions, and a good solid guitar sound. "I Know Your Pain" and "The River Of Serpents" stand out as especially good examples of what this band can do. I like this album pretty well, but even I have to admit it is pretty derivative. Fans of Doom/Death will find nothing here they have not already heard, but there will be enough good stuff to hold your interest. A solid album from a band who will bear watching. |
