This unknown act was founded over ten years ago by guitar player Nord. A self-titled demo came out in 2007. While still without a full-length, Augrimmer, now a five piece band, is presenting this MCD, Autumnal Heavens .

This new release features some good, to the point, melodic Black Metal. No special effects, samplings or keyboards were used during the recording process. This is grim, a bit raw and autumnal Black Metal arts. Varied is the pace and generic the music. Good raspy vocals, distorted riffs on one hand, tremolo picking and clean arpeggios forming the harmonies on the other. The music remains melodic and pleasant all along the short, 18 minutes duration of this MCD. My favorite composition is the title track, for its balance between harshness and harmonies. "Of Endless Fall is the Land Below", as well as closing track, "Spectres of Mortality", not only have great titles, but contain those atmospheric clean arpeggios, adding a very nice and melodic touch.

Augrimmer is a good generic Black Metal act, and I would be curious to find out what their debut full-length will bring to the underground scene.
