Holy shit! This EP is fucking awesome. Some bands really have a great deal of talent, but fail to put together a good song because of all their showing off. Unlike those bands Desecrion have made three songs here that are fucking killer. A young band with so much potential is always great to listen to. If they can put out more music like this I will almost guarantee I will buy an album. Desecrion are a Death Metal band that will slay your face with their talent and ability to write a song.
The Scourge really is a nice little gem that I would have never heard had it not been for Metal Crypt. Basically Brutal Death Metal that is fast and complex riffing and variation between each song gives it a nice touch. Really the only complaint is for the last song, the breakdown; I have heard that exact breakdown before. I really can't dwell on that though as the rest is just awesome. My description of this would really be great Death Metal vocals, and flesh ripping riffs along with, fast and competent drumming that will pummel anything in its path.
I really haven't said much about the music. But just think of a newer style of Death Metal played with skill and the use of original breakdowns, with the exception of the last song, and pummeling drums and this is what you get. This is easily one of the top bands now I am looking forward to a full-length. You only get one good solo, but what the hell, who needs more when the rest is good. Let's hope that the band can put together another pure Death Metal effort that will be as awesome as this one.
