Four years after Sauron released a total mayhem in Thrash Assault, they follow it up with this Satanic Assassins. Like the previous record this is an extremely energetic and evil brand of Black/Thrash Metal. In this sense it is not that much different from its predecessor. But what makes this a better album is the quality of the songs here; the band has clearly turned up a notch in the songwriting department. Songs like: "Poser Holocaust", "Lords of Slaughter and Warfare" and the title track contain the kind of energy and passion that you just can't fake. The album itself is fast and your neck will be sore after half an hour due to the serious headbanging.
The musicians are nothing out of this world, but when you can thrash like they can, it really doesn't matter. However these guys have improved their musicianship this time around - they just sound better. Speaking of which, the production this time around improves by leaps and bounds as well. Don't worry, it is still raw as hell and they still sound like they make the whole album in one day, but this time you can hear the notes and what the band intended to play a lot better.
Satanic Assassins doesn't have any filler whatsoever, every songs kills in one way or another, and after you are done listening to it you want to press the play button once again. The one possible negative that this album has is its length, at barely over thirty minutes, this is way too short. But that is a total nitpick here as this is a record that cannot be missed. If you haven't heard this band before, do yourself a favor and listen to this album. Essential for fans of Black/Thrash metal, especially fans of Deströyer 666.
