Two song 7" single from Sweden's Slingblade on High Roller Records is the subject of this review. Mid-paced, chugging riffs and simple, blues based progressions are what Slingblade are about, the music you might expect to hear at your local bar or pool hall. The band occasionally tiptoe over the line into some heavier stuff, but this is mainly AC/DC-style Hard Rock.

There is nothing new or exciting about either song, just rather bland, generic compositions, both musically and lyrically. The production is weak as well, with the bass nearly inaudible and the drums mixed quite far in the back. The choruses are fairly catchy, but there's nothing else to help Slingblade rise above the hundreds (or thousands) of other bands playing Hard Rock. If this is the best Slingblade have to offer, it's going to be a short ride.
