With a name like Drunken Bastards, it's pretty obvious that this is not too serious even though the annoying (extremely skippable) intro refers to weapons manufacturing and that kind of stuff. The style here is very much influenced by mid-80s "party-ish" punk/Thrash, but with a bit of a blackened vibe. It's raw, it's fast, it's messy and it's downright fun and great in its garage-style simplicity. The vocals remind me a lot of the style used by German Black/Thrash outfits such as Desaster, pretty much spitting the words into the microphone. A blend of Black 'n' Roll, punk and Thrash makes this surprisingly catchy. Pretty cool when you just feel like listening to some mindless fun. |
