Some upbeat Viking Metal from Sweden here. The overall feel is pretty "joyous," very party-like but the kind of party/feast you see in movies about ancient times, folk-ish vibe and all. The vocals are a mild growl, though Grimner also fall into the current trend of throwing in some ill-advised clean vocals in there as well – mixing both isn't a crime, but sometimes it just feels out of place and that's what happens here, though there isn't too much of that. The music is entertaining, though not particularly original and if it weren't for the folk-ish vibe, wouldn't be all that memorable. A good first release that shows some potential. |
