Damn, this could have been quite a decent album. Unfortunately abysmal vocals castrate this album – which seems to be the running theme as of late – however they don't render it completely unlistenable. Formed from the ashes of your average COB clone, Made of Hate are at album number two. Now I haven't heard the entirety of their debut, but I did check out a couple of tracks for reference. I have to say I preferred the vocals from their debut, and although they were your average Alexi Laiho wannabe vocals they don't detract too much. However the dude they have singing now sounds fucking redundant, there's an art to growls – not just any Tom, Dick or Harry can do it – get someone more capable next time around guys.
Vocals aside, the music on offer kicks ass, Bodom-esque power metal being the order of the day. I was set to hate this due to the vocals, all in all though it did grow on me a bit. If you want to hear some good guitar work this album has it in spades, I only wish they'd get a better vocalist. Overall if you're a fan of Bodom-esque music and enjoy juvenile vocal work you will find something to love here.
Standout Tracks; "Russian Roulette", "Lock N' Load", and "Questions".
