I don't get many demos from Irish bands, so I was interested in this one. Eternal Helacaraxe have a name from Tolkien, and some lyrical bent that way as well, but their music is decided Pagan Metal on this promising offering. Five tracks give a definite taste of what this band can do, and while their sound is rather imitative of old Forefather, the chops are good enough to keep me listening. The production is sharply done, and while the guitar tone is rather smooth, it does create a definite atmosphere. Vocals are a bit one-dimensional, and the places where they deviate from the one-note rasping is where their music really starts to pick up. A solid demo from a band I will watch for.
