I had heard good things about this band, so despite my general lack of patience with Prog I was interested to hear this. Imagine my surprise at hearing the sad excuse for Prog Metal to be found here. This is not only not really Prog, it is some of the more terrible Power Metal I have ever heard.
This is more like technical Thrash than Prog, which I would be fine with if it was any good, which it isn't. The recording is flat and lifeless, and I can overlook that, as this was recorded in Iran under no doubt difficult circumstances, so they get a pass on that. But the songwriting is a tedious grind of 4/4 time beats and dull rhythmic riffage that has almost nothing to it except some heaviness. Seriously, these are not riffs, this is just chunka-chunka-chugga. The songs are only about 4-5 minutes long, but they feel like they are 9 minutes long they are so repetitive and dull. The leads are startlingly boring and inept, in no way worthy of any kind of recognition for skill or composition.
It is the vocals of Ashkan Yazdani which deserve special mention for sucking deep and hard. If he was a singing guitar player or something I could maybe see them getting away with it, but as he is just the singer, his awful off-key moaning is impossible to forgive. He has no power, no real range, he can't stay on a note and he is singing the dullest, most snore-inducing melodies you can imagine. Listen to "Battle for..." and tell me that isn't awful. He is just a terrible, shitty singer, and even if this album was better he would ruin it. This is a terrible album of worthless music that I recommend you avoid. Ugh.
