This is actually an old band, as Macabre are sometimes credited with helping invent Death Metal back in the early 80's. So when I say they are Death/Thrash I don't mean it in the modern sense, but rather that they are thrashy but also kind of deathy and punky – they are really not working within a style here. Some of the riffing here is good, but the vocals are some of the worst shit you have ever heard, alternating a punkish screamo style and an even more awful B-52s kind of clean 'singing'. This band is addicted to silly, punky, 'jokey' songs and supposedly funny lyrics, when in fact this just renders their music annoying and ultimately unlistenable. Bleagh. |
