Do we really need more Swedish Death Metal? So much of it has been done, but again a band proves that doing it right makes it worth doing over and over. Sanity of Impiety have a name I really dislike, but their music is a feral, snarling Death Metal assault that avoids most of the clichés of their countrymen. This is not too melodic, not reliant on Entombed-worship, and in fact this reminds me more of Vader than anything else. Rather complex riffing with a more involved rhythmic base than just rat-tat-tat gives this real depth beyond just being vicious. They do dabble in some clean vocals on the last track, and these don't work very well, so I hope that was just an experiment. Still this is a band that absolutely needs to be signed, as a full-length from them could be really first-rate.
