Well, this is a nice slab of second-wave BM blasting. Autolatry self-released a full-length a few years ago, but this is an EP of all-new material. From the sound of it, I want to get that album, because this is pretty fucking cool. The sound is raw and loud, with a blaring guitar tone that wields a lot of texture. If you thought this would be anything Cascadian-sounding, you would be wrong, as this is just freezing riffs and pummeling drumwork all the way through. The songwriting gets a little chaotic later on, and could have used a bit more focus, but overall this is a lot of fun. |
