I must admit this German Heavy/Power Metal band has a pretty cool template for their music. When Eternity Ends is the band's debut album and, even if it doesn't have much of a chance of becoming one of those classic Metal albums, it still has a few quality moments to offer.
What you get from When Eternity Ends is a load of straightforward, relatively epic and well executed Heavy/Power Metal that, at times, but only just occasionally, has a tendency to sound kind of familiar. I bet you love the trademark twin-guitar work of Mr. Smith and Mr. Murray, the epic and sinfully catchy songwriting of Mr. Schaffer and all the other nice and cool things that we all love in Heavy Metal, don't you? Some melody, some nice hooks, catchy choruses and enough aggression form the basic recipe for what hooked us on Metal music. That's what these five Germans are able to offer us on When Eternity Ends. The album's last two tracks, "Earth, My Kingdom" and "Heaven Under Siege" seem to have something extra squeezed into them; the songs are awesome Heavy Metal from start to finish, even succeeding in sending a few goose bumps down my spine.
What else is there to say about this album except you will find it worth your time. Good stuff.
