Argh! My ears! I have been waiting for like seven years for Axehammer to follow up the glorious Windrider, and now when it comes they did something horrible in the recording booth and I am not able to even tell you if the songs are any good. They sound like they might be, but the recording is so hideous I can barely stand to listen to it. They had the gain turned up too high or something, and this sounds tinny, compressed, and altogether unlistenable. No matter how high you turn this up, it has no bottom end at all and the speaker balance is off, so it sounds defective. There is no depth or space to the sound, and it is just thin and tinny from note one. I don't mean a regular kind of tinny either, I mean a degree that makes this actively painful to listen to. Horrible. I can't rate this because I can't listen to it. Call me back when this thing gets a real mix and doesn't sound like pinched, awful shit.
