Earth Dies Screaming is a three-song demo from a new band going by the name Atomblaster. Info is scarce as they don't have a Metal-Archives entry or much of a web presence (only a Bandcamp page) and I am only listing their home country as Finland because that is what I read in a review of this demo on another web site (the band didn't put that in any of the info they sent with the music). What Atomblaster play is early proto-Black Speed/Thrash Metal in the unholy mold of Possessed and Hellhammer. According to the scant info they sent, these three songs were created by two guys messing around in their rehearsal space and if that is the case kudos because this shit kicks ass. The vocals are raw and evil yet not unintelligible, the drumming and riffing range from light speed to powerful grooves and the sound is surprisingly clear. The band admits they aren't recreating the wheel just trying to honor the classic style and they have hit the bull's-eye with Earth Dies Screaming. It is nothing inventive; just throw your fist in the air THRASH. As Paul McCrane's character Emil, from the first Robocop movie, says upon firing the rocket-launcher; "I LIKE IT!"
