Auron hails from Saratov, Russia, and started out in 2007. It took eight years to get their self-titled debut album recorded but I guess they wanted to get something worthy done before rushing into the studio and putting out half-assed material.

I am glad they waited to get this 12-song effort recorded as they sound well rehearsed. There’s freshness to their progressive, melodic and even Neoclassical Metal sound and it has sort of a relaxed and light atmosphere. There’s nothing forced about their free-flowing progressive Metal either. Vocalist and guitarist Nikolay Bogov has also a good voice for this stuff; clean, melodious and with the ability to reach the higher registers when needed. The whole band sounds like they should appeal to thousands and thousands of progressive Heavy/Power Metal fans out there so feel free to check them out.
