Russia's Roman Kartashov does not want to make compromises. It's easy to pull all the strings if a) you do everything yourself, including writing both music and lyrics and b) you handle all instruments yourself without any outsiders telling you what to do.
Kraworath is a one-man band, the sole creation of Mr. Kartashov, who has done everything from playing guitars to vocals to programming the bass and drums. It must take some time to learn to do everything from start to finish and I can only imagine how rewarding it must be to finally deliver the goods.
Purification Through Pain is Kraworath's second album and relies heavily on US technical Death Metal bringing to mind names such as Cannibal Corpse, Deicide and Dying Fetus without sounding too much like any one of them. Roman has undoubtedly dedicated a lot of time getting Kraworath's sound to be as professional and carefully crafted as it is even if some of the programmed drum parts might sound a bit too robotic and cold. Despite this Roman has a good sense of Death Metal arrangement and it shows on Purification Through Pain. There's nothing on this record he should be ashamed of. On the contrary, I believe he should be proud of his accomplishments.
For fans of Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus and such, here's something worth sacrificing your organs of hearing to.
