Once known as Dawn of Chaos, Vacivus slither from the ashes of its former persona (and a slight line-up change), finding its feet spewing forth a filth-encrusted, cavernous, nigh on blackened Death Metal approach. The atmosphere is sullen, suffocating at time with the band's new EP Rite of Ascension.

Furiously crafted, splicing elements from the old style Finnish Death Metal, with the technical proficiency of Morbid Angel or Hate Eternal, Vacivus carve out five earth-shaking, dust-blasting storms of Death Metal delight. Throughout you can expect pummeling grooves, slithering tremolo bursts, bitter growls, and tortured screams; as well as some pro shredding from Ross Oliver (Risen Prophecy, ex-Horrified) and Dan Rochester (Bone Tomb, Spartan Warrior).

More promise from North-East England, and another sick tape release from Goat Prayer Records. Absolutely worth picking up, setting some anticipation in for a potential full-length in the future; much like Bone Tomb this is on a limited cassette run, and I'd recommend picking one up. Very cool, gnarly Death Metal, the closing "Vacivus Aeternum" displays all the good about this band in spades.
