Sadistik Exekution. I remember buying the album Fukk many years ago and not liking it at all. I probably wasn't all that extreme back then. I guess having to deal with a condo board led by idiots has made me appreciate the most extreme forms of metal music more than ever – it calms me down. ;) But enough about me...
30 Years of Agonizing the Dead is a compilation of early demos – Agonizing the Dead (1992) and Suspiral (1991) – as well as two EP singles – Demon with Wings (1996) and Sadistik Elektrocution (1997). Usually when you think "compilation", you expect a long album but, in the band's typical fashion, this one is short and sweet (err...) at just under 33 minutes. In that short length you get treated to Sadistik Exekution's brand of raw, lo-fi, demonic-sounding Death/Black Metal. Fast and just chaotic enough – nowhere near as messy as the likes of Deiphago, so you can actually make some sense out of this. The band's roots date back to the mid-80s and it shows here; there's a thrashy vibe to the guitars that was common in the genre back then, and it's displayed in full force here. The vocals, while of the raspy variety, are clear enough to actually understand most of the lyrics – but fear not; Rok's vocals are haunting as fuck. Or as "fukk", as the band would put it. This compilation is a nice little treat for those who do not have the demos and EPs so, if the style tickles your fancy, go ahead and get this.
