Sarpentra is more than a group of people who play music. It is an idea, a symbiosis of spirit, music and mind in a single organism which creates its own fate.
My very first impression of Serpentra's debut album, Supernova, was that they must be a Russian version of Nile (just replace those Egyptian influences with some orchestrated and cosmic twists). They sound much like Nile with powerful and bombastic song arrangements. The whole album is a great display of professional musicianship and sheer talent that has created something so strong and powerful that it cannot be ignored.
Supernova is a very impressive Death Metal release, one of the best finds in years for me personally as far as Death Metal is concerned. It's a complex, multi-layered and awe-inspiring record with obvious Nile influences but who cares? Music this addictive deserves your full support. Sarpentra have the potential to make it big some day, I have no doubt.
Beware Nile, Sarpentra is coming and the dark clouds are already gathering above the horizon.
