Here's one album from 2017 that I missed and found out about just a couple of days ago.  If I had heard of this sooner, it might have reached my top 10 best albums of 2017 list.
Check out Spain's Slups, a death metal band with a lot of skill and fun ideas to spice up their death metal approach.  Overall, nothing too new, and upon first listen, I thought the band had a rather faceless sound, but after skipping around and hearing parts of tracks throughout the album, I found many things to enjoy on this record called Rituals Beyond the Oniricous.

Give this album a listen!  Skip around and hear some bits, as the beginning might be the most generic bit of the album.

For those looking for their Nile, Maat, and Behemoth fix this quarter, Egypt's Crescent released their newest album yesterday called The Order of Amenti.  Epic work from what I've heard so far.  Here is a video from one of the more lengthy songs off the album just posted to YouTube a month ago.

Finally catching wind of a new Death Metal release that I feel certain will be great.
California's Skeletal Remains just released a new music video a few hours ago, which is in support of their new album coming out April 13th.  This is old-school influenced death metal, and comparisons to Pestilence, Death, and Obituary are not far off.  Check out this music video for the song "Seismic Abyss."

Alright, here are a couple of recent death metal discoveries for me, both of which are very solid.

First is the one-man band Ripped to Shreds with his new album called 埋葬 ("Mai-zang" in pingyin).  The Chinese album title and Chinese themes within the song titles are likely due to the fact that the dude is a Chinese-American living in San Jose, California.  This album is likely to be the freshest sounding modern output of old school death metal worship you'll hear. Well, don't rip me to shreds if you disagree, but I think anyone will like this one if they like old school death metal, mostly in the vain of Swedish Death, but there is also plenty of US old school death metal in his sound as well.

Check him out!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y60ICu0q8_k

Secondly, those of you looking to satisfy your craving for absolutely old school Entombed and Dismember worship, I've been extremely pleased by South Dakota's own Angerot, whose album "The Splendid Iniquity" is particularly well-executed, and has even been blessed with two guest performances in LG Petrov and James Murphy.  If you love those old Swedish death metal bands, do check these guys out as well.
