Surprising that this is a band from Slovenia, as their sound is pure old-school US metal. Eruption mix a kick of slightly technical Thrash reminiscent of bands like Heathen with melodic Heavy Metal that most strongly reminds me of mid-period Helstar. I hear a touch of US bands like Steel Prophet or Deadly Blessing as well, all with a very strong Thrash edge. This is just a really entertaining album. The songs are good, with lots of twists and turns and dynamic to keep them interesting. The guitar sound is heavy and satisfying, and vocalist Klemen Kalin has a strong voice with a good melodic sense, but he also keeps an aggressive tone to his performance that is distinctly thrashy. Songs like "Drones" and "Seven Archons" are steel-smoking slabs of metal that will keep your fist in the air. |
