Profanal play some fast death metal with a soupcon of seasoning that rarely ever slows down. I've listened to this album numerous times and I can't say I ever remember any of it once it's over, which is too bad as there's some really good vocal work here and the music is relatively varied and the guitar work can be pretty cool, with a little thrashy vibe here and there, and the drummer literally beats the crap of out of the drums – in a good way. Supreme Fire is one of those albums that's good while it's on but you forget about it once it's over. Profanal have the technique, now they just need to make their songs more remarkable to stand out in a very busy genre. Worth checking out, or at the very least a band to keep an eye on. |
