I had never heard Power Theory before. I probably ignored them because the name makes me think of wanky progressive metal. ;) Well, nope. This short-and-sweet EP hits the spot right from the start up until the very end. It's not easy to kick ass when presenting a new song, a couple of re-recorded songs and ending with a couple of live ones. Off the top of my head, I can think of Iron Savior and Vader having done this successfully.

Pounding, hard-hitting heavy metal is what you'll find here, with galloping riffs, powerful gritty vocals and some guitar work in the best tradition of heavy metal with a drummer beating the crap out of the skins. The live tracks sound really good and they did a good job of bringing in the crowd noises without overdoing it. This is just fun to listen to and I've found myself leaving it on repeat several times in a row in the few weeks since I got it. It just doesn't get old.
