Here's some really cool American sounding Thrash Metal from Moscow, Russia. Fallen Nation have been around since 2011 and this self-titled 7-track demo is the band's first official release, recorded in 2017. Musically there's lots of Bay Area Thrash in their sound, especially early Exodus, but one can also find some hints of bands like early Death Angel, early Forbidden Evil and even some of Dark Angel's We Have Arrived era. In other words, the band does have a good recipe to thrash both their and our hearts out. Sound-wise this is still on a demo level, but despite lacking some quality in the production they make it up with some relentless and relatively technical Thrash anthems like "Die in a Fire," "Red Dawn," and the absolutely violent "Wartime". Even their version of one of Hellwitch's classic demo songs, "Torture Chamber" sounds pretty cool and convincing, although it doesn't beat the original. This is a nice and cool start from these Russian thrashers. Up next, they just need to find a proper studio and obtain better, more professional production to support their Thrash assaults. |
