Another short EP from these Australian thrashers, still two tracks but about 50% longer. I don't like this one as much as Addicted to Thrash, which was just fun old-school thrash done the right way. Apocalypse Now is more crossover-ish but also sounds more "modern thrash", and by that I don't mean the so-called "thrash revival" but just the modern thrash that was a bit too present for my taste just a few years ago before bands decided to go old school instead. This sounds groovier, simpler (in a bad way), not nearly as catchy and has a few irritating moments. It's not bad per se but, knowing what these guys can do, this is a let down. |
