Lawless Age is the second full-length from Colorado's Black/Thrash band Weapönizer. Musically, they fall somewhere around Morbid Tales on the Celtic Frost-o-meter, not nearly as raw as Hellhammer (yes, Hellhammer is on the Frost-o-meter) nor as inventive as To Mega Therion. Weapönizer blasts forth a steady stream of Black/Death vocals, vicious riffs and chaotic leads throughout the album, rarely pausing for breath. There's nothing here you haven't heard a thousand times by now, though the cover of English Dogs' "World War 2" is notable if only for how different it sounds from the rest of the album. Well executed but ultimately faceless, Lawless Age will appeal mainly to Black/Thrash addicts. |
