This is pretty decent thrash with rather annoying vocals. At times it sounds like the guy recorded his lines while sitting on the cans and things were not progressing very well. It's a vocal style closer to some of those more commercial heavy metal genres that we love to hate and that kind of takes something away from the listening experience which is too bad since this is overall a good slab of fast, rampaging thrash. Their sound is about as clean as it gets without being clinical and lifeless. Every time I listen to Enter the Arena, I can't help but think that their material must come off much better live than on disc. There's nothing particularly original here, but those songs just beg for a live crowd of thrasher raising their fists in the air and creating a mosh pit of biblical proportions. |
