Burning Torches is yet another entry into the Black/Thrash revival pool, this courtesy of Spain's Krossfyre. Like all the other recent releases in this genre, it is full of grimy, aggressive guitars played at high speed and tortured screams spouting evil lyrics. The singer's voice is drenched in echo, giving it an old-school vibe but other than that, there's nothing on Burning Torches that makes it stand out from the glut of Black/Thrash music available. It is solid but unspectacular so, unless you are a die-hard, you can take it or leave it. |
