I have the previous album from these guys, Send Them All to Hell, but I honestly can't remember ever listening to it. I think I have a problem. Anyway, this is a German heavy metal outfit featuring Destruction's Schmier. You don't even need to look up the lineup as his distinctive voice is immediately recognizable. This is melodic but razor-sharp, fast heavy metal that borders on speed metal with a nice thrashy edge and a bit of fast modern power metal vibe, and that's what makes it a good listen: it's varied and there's always something "new" popping up with every listen. Panzer have managed to marry the 80s traditional, dirty heavy/thrash metal vibe with the more modern and clean high-speed power metal that's been coming out of Europe for a couple of decades. Now I have to go give that other album a listen... |
