Khthonian Hymns is a carefully composed and detailed album, making the album sound like this is more than a one-man band. The music is basically a mix of early Horrified (In the Garden of the Unearthly Delights in particular) and Septic Flesh with a musical approach similar to what Jon Nödtveidt did with Dissection. Deisidaemonia's songs have the same kind of charm, where dark, vicious and atmospheric parts blend well together. The production is also good; crispy enough but not over-polished at all, serving these eight melodic Black/Death Metal anthems very well. If you are a fan of the melodic and atmospheric Black/Death style, Deisidaemonia has something for you. |
