Fire Strike is a Brazilian band that's been around since 2005 and released a number of demos and participated in a couple of splits before their debut, Slaves of Fate, was unleashed on the masses in 2017. Pounding, fist-in-the-air metal is what Fire Strike is all about and they go right for the throat from the opening notes of "Reach for Your Life." Singer Aline Nunes is an unquestioned talent, wailing through the songs like a banshee. You won't be able to hold back from adding your backing vocals when tracks like "Master of the Seas" and "Our Shout is Heavy Metal" are on. The riffs are sharp and melodic with some acrobatic and creative lead work, something missing from a lot of albums these days. All fans of 80s metal, particularly the female-fronted work of Chastain and Crystal Viper, will want to add Slaves of Fate to their collections. |
