One thing with Anvil is that they rarely surprise you. They've had roughly the same sound since their inception and, while they do shake things up a bit on each album, their core sound is always at the rendezvous. The same is true here. A good mix of fast and mid-paced old-school heavy metal songs that, despite the modern and clean production, still have that 80s traditional metal vibe that Anvil are known for. It did take me a couple of listens to really get into it and a few more to really notice the more intricate parts; before that it felt a bit vapid.

This is traditional Anvil. It mostly rocks hard and the party vibe can be heard on most tracks and, of course, you get a good dose of silly, lighthearted lyrics that we've come to expect from these guys. It's not revolutionary and I'm not sure there's anything here to win new fans, but those who like their previous work should find something to like here.
