Review

I own a couple of Ignitor's previous albums, but I honestly can't remember whether I liked them or not. Maybe I've reached peak metal? Nah. Anyway, this is a fun album that scream old school from beginning to end. With a less polished sound, this is one of those albums that could well have been released in the mid-80s. Unpretentious, catchy, fast, but with a couple of slower numbers as well. If "Hatchet (The Ballad of Victor Crowley)" wasn't transported directly from the repertoire of an 80s band, it's as close as it gets. If there was still any doubt, the album ends with a cover of Raven's "Hung, Drawn and Quartered". Whether it's vocally or musically, Haunted by Rock & Roll is the kind of fun, hard-rocking, razor-sharp, catchy mid-80s-style metal that got so many of us into the genre back in the day.
