Hailing from Katowice, Poland, come this savage and ominous sounding horde named Hate Them All. Release-wise, Hate Them All have been really active by releasing a good number of demos and splits throughout their career, and now this debut full-length studio album. On Last Feast with the Beast the band's line-up is completely anonymous, but there are two guys behind the band; one taking care of vocals and all string instruments and another responsible for banging the drums of doom, so to speak. Hate Them All's Black Metal isn't as black and white as one might think of at first. It contains more nuances than many grim and raw sounding Black Metal bands dare to incorporate into their albums. In some ways Hate Them All manages to sound like the sinister Finnish hate commando Barathrum, also having some dirty rock-ish vibe wrapped around their sound, which is always cool in my book. Such song titles as "Fucking Whore" and "Beer and Fist" tell all about the band's tongue-in-cheek attitude. (Black) Metal doesn't have to be so serious all the time, otherwise the world would be a boring place, right? Last Feast with the Beast is a good and entertaining debut album from these filthy sounding and old beer-oozing, blackened Polish warriors. If you want to get entertained quite a bit, this album may well do all the work. |
