If a song starts off with a riff that reminds one heavily of "Rapid Fire" by Judas Priest (off the band's 1980 album, British Steel), it somehow strangely urges you to check the band out, right?

Coronary are a new Finnish Heavy Metal band consisting of some experienced musicians from various bands and projects. They clearly bow to the 80s era of Heavy Metal that is naturally the most classic era of the genre. "Firewings," which opens the band's 3-song demo, is nothing but pure, honest and strongly 80s-tinged Heavy Metal at its core with a great, catchy chorus, some hooky melodies, and just about everything that one craves for in a well-crafted Heavy Metal song.

Then we get "Bullet Train," which is the demo's heaviest steamroller, oozing more testosterone than what the doctor ordered. Olli "The True Herman" Kärki's vocals are simply amazing, reminding me of Jonathan Scott K. of Q5 in a way. The band's guitarists obviously know who Randy Rhoads and Jake E. Lee are, no doubt.

Is the best saved for last on this demo? Maybe... It depends on who you are asking. Starting off with the sound of a starting motor (probably more likely some lame sounding Japanese vehicle than the mighty Mustang, ha!), "Mestengo," soon goes into some sort of Saxon/Accept mode. The song has basically everything that a classic Heavy Metal song is made of, strongly communicating that this band means serious business, folks.

Coronary refuse to reinvent the smoothly rollin' Heavy Metal wheel. No, on the contrary, they want it to be untouched, letting it roll freely, the way it's been rolling in the best way since the golden era of 80s Heavy fuckin' Metal.

Now feel free to bow down in front of true traditional Heavy Metal... Yes, you can bend even deeper than that.
