South American underground metal bands obviously have it in their blood: aggression, hatred and profanity. This is a compilation of this Chilean trio's early demo and single releases.

This is a very primitive, fast and unpolished mix of Thrash and proto-Death Metal, which is basically a mix of Tormentor (now Kreator), and the demo eras of Slayer and Sepultura. However, do not get fooled. Unfortunately, Verdugo does not sound anywhere as good as those bands, though they certainly have a drive for their own little world domination with their aggressive and raw Thrash and Death Metal. Yes, all kinds of enthusiasm is there, pushing Verdugo forward, but the talent is not – at least not as much as I originally hoped for.

If all this material had been released in 1985 when the tape trading scene started really blooming, I am sure Verdugo would have gotten lots of attention from people. Well, times have drastically changed since those days. Best of luck to them in the future anyway.
