Ignitor is a Texas band that's been banging around since '03 and with the release of Haunted by Rock & Roll in 2017, now has six full-length albums to their credit. The music is a thrashy stripe of metal with gritty riffs and a pounding rhythm section supporting wild, screamy vocals. Sometimes I'm reminded of fellow Texans Helstar and their brand of power/thrash, other times the unhinged screaming makes me think of a metal version of The Darkness. There's a punk vibe running through Haunted by Rock & Roll but, unlike Motörhead for example, it is too over the top and distracting. I would say Ignitor do what they do well enough, but it definitely isn't my cup of tea. Nice job on the cover of Raven's "Hung, Drawn and Quartered" though. |
