Requisition, the title of this six-track offering from Staten Island thrashers Sicada, is more than just a promising start. The band's progressive tinged Thrash Metal kicks the door wide open beautifully, revealing a potential Thrash force.

Sicada play their Thrash Metal well, having an ear for tight song arrangements and proving that they have the needed resources to become even a more largely accepted Thrash Metal entity for many of us Thrash Metal fans. I am also relatively sure they will be recognized a lot of more if they continue working hard and are able to keep their well-crafted Thrash Metal on this high-quality level. I am not sure whether I am the first one to say this, but in many ways Sicada also reminds me strongly of another Thrash Metal band, In Malice's Wake from Melbourne, Australia. Whereas In Malice's Wake put more emphasis on brutal and faster parts, Sicada have found their potential playground in progressiveness and mid-tempo-ish Thrash.

Do not let Sicada slip out of your Thrash Metal radar if a more progressive tinged Thrash is something that puts a wide grin on your face.
