Outline is a new Speed Metal outfit featuring multi-instrumentalists Demona (whose previous, eponymous band gave rise to Outline) and J. Hammer, who now go by the respective stage names of "The Speed" and "The Hammer". Their first release is a demo called Fire Whiplash and even though it's getting a cassette release courtesy of Hells Headbangers, it is quite literally a demo. The sound is thin and the instruments are mashed together, making it hard to hear anything. The vocals are clear though loaded with echo and the writing is on the punk side, so, to me, Fire Whiplash sounds like old Plasmatics played at warp speed. I'm guessing Hells Headbangers was looking to capitalize on the Demona name and get something in the market, but the terrible sound and derivative songwriting isn't worth your time or money. Wait for a proper release from Outline.
