If you like your power metal to be of the amped-up and gritty style like Rebellion or Paragon, you might want to check out Raging Fate's Gods of Terror. These guys play fast and sacrifice not one jot of crunch as they plow through the songs on their debut album. The songwriting is fairly simple and a bit formulaic with tracks like "Tombstone" and "Vampire" treading familiar ground. The vocals have a barking quality like A Tortured Soul. I have to admit that the album ends on a high note with "The Curse," a simmering, slow burner with an "Orgasmatron"-like riff. Solid. |
