Celtic Kings is the fifth and final release for Sweden's Rocka Rollas as band leader and multi-instrumentalist Cedric Forsberg announced that the group was ending its run with this album . Like Rocka Rollas' prior albums (and a lot of Forsberg's output with his many other groups), the songs on Celtic Kings are played fast and that is the main thing that sticks in your mind after listening as they are, for the most part, mostly generic. The exception is the lengthy title track, which varies speed and mood effectively. Otherwise, Celtic Kings reminds me a lot of early Dragonforce, minus the catchy choruses. |
