Gunjack must be the Italian equivalent to the UK's Motörhead. Not only does their music have this special Rock 'n' Roll-ish vibe, but also the band's vocalist and bassist Mr. Messerschmitt (i.e. Alessandro Dominizi) sounds and looks like Lemmy (R.I.P.). And damn, he even has those sideburns that are just like Lemmy's. So yes, this trio has a lot in common with Motörhead's heritage, which is pretty cool actually as Motörhead is sadly no more.
Totally Insane, the band's debut album, features 11 tracks that all more or less bring Motörhead to mind due to Alex's strong, raspy vocal delivery. What distances Gunjack from Motörhead is that they sound more polished, more melodic and put more emphasis on the Metal side musically than, let's say, pure Rock 'n' Roll. But all the same, they sound darn fun and entertaining, which is what matters most to me when talking about music. It's obvious that these lads have practised together for quite some time already as there's a good sort of 'party vibe' in their songs.
There's not so much more to be said about Totally Insane. If you are curious to know how much these Italian lads love Motörhead, then by all means, check out this album.
